Living at Lakefront

A community of up to 70 people, on the edge of a lake, twenty minutes from central Stockholm. Good work, good company, and a place that makes both possible.

Residents come from many different fields — technology, research, the arts, education, social enterprise, sustainability. What they share is not a profession or a programme but an orientation: a sense that inner development and outer contribution belong together, and that the company you keep shapes the work you do.

Rooms from 6,000 SEK (€550) per month in shared apartments, and from 12,000 SEK (€1,100) for your own apartment.

Who is this for?

People doing work they believe in, who want to live somewhere that reflects that. People curious about their own inner life — not as a project, but as part of how they show up in the world. People looking for genuine community among others who share their orientation, even if they are doing very different things.

We welcome couples, though the community is currently designed for adult living and is unable to accommodate children.

The Lakefront Campus

The building sits beside Drevviken lake in Sköndal — one of Stockholm's quieter, greener corners. Outside: a sauna raft on the water, spacious lawns, forest trails, tennis and football courts, beach volleyball, and an outdoor gym. Next door: a café and restaurant with lake views. In the city: twenty minutes by bike or public transport.

It is the kind of place that makes it easy to have a good day.

Accommodation options

Forty-one freshly renovated, fully furnished apartments — each with its own bathroom and kitchen or kitchenette, ranging from 25 to 45 square metres. Most are single occupancy; some are shared for lower monthly costs. Over 1,000 square metres of communal space is available to all residents.

Life at Lakefront

Shared dinners and late evenings in the library. Morning swims and spontaneous conversations. Emerge Institute on the premises, bringing programmes, events, and visiting thinkers into the week. The community has its own rhythm — unhurried, genuinely social, and serious without being solemn.

You live your own life here. But you do not live it alone.

Shared Spaces

More than 1,000 square metres of communal space: a library and event hall, a living room with home cinema, a fireplace lounge, a co-working space, a café corner, a gym, yoga room, dance studio and meditation space. Outside, the sauna raft on the lake. There is also a podcast studio, an art/handicraft atelier, and a repair workshop for those who make things with their hands. Shared e-bikes for the lake and the city.

Everything you need to work well, think well, and live well — in one building.

Residency is by application. We look for people who are a good fit for the community — in terms of what they are working on, how they engage with others, and what they are looking for in a home. The process is informal. If you are uncertain whether this is right for you, getting in touch costs nothing.
