Lakefront Campus
We call it a campus because the main building is only part of it.
The site sits on a small peninsula in Sköndal, twenty minutes from central Stockholm. Water on three sides. Quiet without being remote.
Around the grounds: a café and restaurant in the original 17th-century manor house, a sun deck and swimming jetty on the lake, a private sauna raft on the water, a large greenhouse used for parties and events, a tennis court, an outdoor gym, and forest trails for running or walking. Several smaller houses sit by the water's edge, still finding their purpose. In winter, the lake freezes — long enough for skating.
The site has a longer story. For many decades it was home to Stiftelsen Sköndal, a foundation dedicated to the education of Christian deacons. That history is still present in the architecture and the atmosphere — a quality of seriousness and quiet that suits what is being built here now.
The Main Building
At the center of all of this lies our main building of 6.000m2 facing south with stunning lake views.
At the centre of the campus: a 6,000 square metre building facing south across Drevviken lake. This is where residents live, where the shared spaces are, and where most of what happens at Lakefront happens.
It is an unusual place to find twenty minutes from a capital city. Which is partly the point.
The campus sits on the edge of Flatens naturreservat — one of Stockholm's least known and most quietly rewarding nature reserves. Pine forests, ancient oaks, sun-warmed granite, reeds along the lakeshore. Trails that feel remote without being far from anything. In summer, Lake Flaten is one of the cleanest swimming lakes in the city. In winter, the forests are still and the ice holds.
People who live near Sköndal tend to regard Flaten as one of Stockholm's hidden treasures. Living here, it is simply outside your door.
Our lakeside sanctuary is more than just a location; it is a nurturing environment where individuals can engage deeply with themselves, each other, and the broader world.
