An evening discussion on whether loneliness is a private or a social condition.
The fifth session of The Elephant, a salon for questions that often go unspoken, asked whether loneliness is a private feeling or a shared condition. It started from Stockholm's high share of single-person households and looked at how cities, screens, working life and the decline of public space contribute to it, holding personal and collective accounts in the same conversation.
The evening was held in the Organ House at Emerge Lakefront, a smaller room suited to close seating and attentive listening. It used a format called Differentiated Commitment, which makes room for real disagreement without turning into debate. Participants could take up one of several offered positions, one of which rejected the distinction between being alone and being lonely. Refreshments were served.

Reported outcomes varied and included emotional release, a calmer nervous system, mental clarity and a sense of peace. Innerdance, which originated in the Philippines, was presented as a global movement, and no prior experience was needed.

The Elephant: On Numbness
A salon on whether numbness is a failure of feeling or a form of wisdom.
The fourth gathering of The Elephant, a salon for questions people often avoid, was held in the Organ House at Emerge Lakefront in Sköndal. It centred on whether numbness signals a lack of feeling or carries a kind of insight. Participants were offered several positions to take up, including one for those sceptical of the framing itself. The gathering was intimate, and refreshments were served.

Re:Sound – a one week residency redefining resonance 🎶
A one-week residency of rebuilt pianos, new instruments and hacked sound systems, ending in a concert.
Re:Sound was a one-week immersive residency in Sköndal, presented by Emerge Lakefront as its first programme of this kind. It centred on the future of resonance and brought together artists, carpenters, sound hackers and improvisers to explore how sound can emerge from unexpected sources.
Participants reworked old pianos, built new instruments, modified sound systems and drew out the acoustic qualities of overlooked materials. The residency built toward a single concert at the end of the week. It was aimed at musicians, builders, synthesiser enthusiasts and improvisers interested in co-creating work from unconventional starting points.

Fika with Dan Siegel
A relaxed fika conversation with a neuropsychiatrist, more dialogue than lecture.
Fika with Dan Siegel was a relaxed afternoon at Emerge Lakefront, a changemaker residency in Sköndal, centred on fika, the Swedish custom of pausing over coffee, tea and something sweet. Rather than a lecture, the gathering featured a conversation with a neuropsychiatrist and author about his outlook, values and inner experience beyond his professional reputation. The format avoided slides and technical material.
The programme opened with an unhurried period of arrival before the host and guest moved into discussion. The group was deliberately mixed, spanning generations, sectors, nationalities and life experiences, and suited curious minds and changemakers interested in inner development. Participants were asked to bring something to share for the fika.

The Week @Project Lakefront x Young Sustainability Professionals
Three sessions with Young Sustainability Professionals: climate documentaries and discussion.
The Week was a three-part gathering run jointly by Project Lakefront and Young Sustainability Professionals. Participants watched hour-long documentary episodes across three sessions, then took part in guided discussions about the emotions, challenges and possibilities tied to the planet's condition. The aim was less about acquiring facts and more about shifting perspectives.
Two sessions were held at Project Lakefront, a residential changemaker community in natural surroundings just south of Stockholm, and the middle one took place at a central city office. No prior knowledge was assumed. Underlying the programme was the idea that tackling the climate crisis calls for a collective, cultural inner shift in how people see themselves, one another and the planet.
